Heironeous is the god of Chivalry, Justice, Honor, War, Daring, and Valor. His holy symbol is a silver lightning bolt, often clutched in a fist. His mortal enemy was his evil half-brother, Hextor, whom he slew in honorable combat during the Deity War. Shortly after he dealt the killing blow, however, he was ambushed by Nerull, and in his weakened state after the battle was easily overcome and killed by the god of death.

Scriptures

A number of holy texts were formerly venerated by the faith of Heironeous. The best-known work is likely The Book of the Code, a four-chapter work outlining the Heironean Code and providing examples of how one was expected to follow it. Another well-known work is the Book of Penitence (also known as the Just Book), which describes the achievements of a legendary paladin who came to be venerated as a saint by some Heironean sects.
