Winnea is a human noblewoman from a minor (and nearly defunct) noble family. With what little funds her father had left, he sent Winnea to a prestigious academy where she blossomed. While attending the Academy, Winnea showed promise in the magical arts and yet greater skill in finesse martial prowess.

Sadly, the family's estate fell in ruins while Winnea was at school, causing the subsequent death of her father and mother. Pierre, their long-time manservant and majordomo, became both the executor of the Revellis estate (meager as it is) and Winnea's trusted retainer.

Winnea's father's last act as head of household was to arrange her hand in marriage to Sigurd Weißritter (Weissritter). Sigurd is son and heir of the noble Weissritter family, long allies to the Revellis family, and is himself Winnea's childhood friend. Upon Winnea's graduation from the Academy, she was to be wed to Sigurd and join his family. Yet when Pierre delivered her to the Weissritter estate, they discovered that the noble family had been driven from their lands by bandits and Sigurd was nowhere to be found.

Undeterred, Pierre led Winnea on a journey to track down Sigurd so that the two may wed, and together reclaim the Weissritter's holdings. It is here that Winnea finds herself in Oakhurst, doing odd jobs to raise more money towards her goal of finding Sigurd...

During her time spent in Oakhurst, Winnea joined up with a band of adventurers and they were hired to locate a pair of missing siblings who were last seen heading in to the Sunless Citadel. Pierre set Winnea up with an adventuring set of equipment and stayed behind to tend to matters.

The adventure was dangerous, as she nearly fell to a white dragon's icy breath and lost her strength to a living shadow. However, she and her party managed to save Erky Timbers from his prison and successfully found the missing siblings. Winnea also located a tied-up gorilla, which she was able to tame and it followed her home.

Deep within the Citadel, Winnea located Sigurd's signet ring, which was broken and bent. This caused her great distress and anguish.

Bringing Sigurd's ring back to Oakhurst at the conclusion of the adventure, Winnea holed herself up in her room. Her gorilla friend kept watch outside her door the entire time. Meanwhile, Pierre held out hope that not all was lost, and contacted a druid-for-hire to divine Sigurd's whereabouts using his broken signet ring. To Pierre's surprise, the divination led him towards the gorilla that Winnea saved. Despite his doubts, Pierre insisted that Winnea investigate her new acquaintance further.

To her surprise, the gorilla understands Common though he can't talk. Through a serious of written signs and gestures, Winnea was able to confirm that he is Sigurd! He's unsure of how it came to be that he was polymorphed into an Ape, but that it is unlikely purely the work of the bandits that kidnapped him. Studying him closely, Winnea was able to detect magic at work still lingering on his body.

Winnea spent the entire day discussing matters with Sigurd, and they concluded that until he is returned to his Human form, that they will have to put their goal of reclaiming their titles on hold. Their new goal is to seek out a means by which he can regain a humanoid body, his originally or otherwise. To that end, they will continue their adventures together.

To prepare for their upcoming adventures, Winnea and Sigurd trained together in the nearby wilderness to better understand how to fight as a unit.
