Olhydra is a primordial and lord of water. Long ago, at the end of the Third Age, Olhydra was imprisoned within the Plane of Water.

In 2965, Yngukulub the Devourer, High Prophet of the Cult of the Crushing Wave, opened a portal to the Plane of Water in the caverns below Belsimar and used the magical tident Drown to summon Olhydra into Syra. Soon after her arrival, Olhydraclashed with fellow primordial Ogrémoch, who had also been summoned; the effects of their cataclysmic battle devastated the land above and resulted in the Shattering of Orodeth. Though the conflict ended in a stalemate, Olhydra withdrew back to the portal to recover her strength. Shortly thereafter, Kazak's Follies and the Brightstone Heroes arrived and fought them. When Olhydra engulfed Myra Brigg, the sorceress broke her staff of power hoping that the resulting magical explosion would destroy her. Unfortunately, Olhydra survived and continued her assault until Gurrard Snevilin killed the Devourer and Sumac Briarden used Drown to close the portal, forcefully pulling Olhydra back through. Leardon Sunflare, who was himself trapped within Olhydra at the time, was pulled through as well. Now trapped within the Plane of Water once more, Olhydra took out her rage by destroying him.
